For me, I enjoyed it so much that I kept doing it and put in lots of time practicing. You can learn to draw, I was not blessed with the gift of being a “natural artist”. I simply loved drawing and that love for drawing made me put in the time it takes to learn the skill. Sometimes people will say to me “you are a talented artist”. Of course when someone says this I say thank you but I don’t think of myself as a talented artist I think of myself as a skilled artist. To me the difference is that the word talented makes me think of having a natural ability. I think of myself as skilled because I did not have any natural ability, I put in the time and developed the skill.
